Salt obviously brings out the meaty flavours of steak and our Himalayan Rose Pink Salt is best of all to do that. Mined from the Khewra Salt Mine its pink colour comes from its high levels of iron oxide. Himalayan salt contains trace elements of 84 minerals and nutrients including calcium, potassium, and magnesium and is lower in sodium chloride than table salt. Best of all it has a lovely crunch!
This is a basic recipe for steak but you can always add your own favourite flavourings such as garlic or a sauce. Serve with a salad and a jacket potato or chips.

Our Kala Lamak Black Salt is a special salt from India where it is used to flavour chutneys. raitas and savoury fried snacks.
Not truly black despite its name, Kala Lamak salt is a pinkish grey and has a slightly sulphurous taste which makes it a boon for vegan cooking as it adds flavour to so many tofu dishes.
We have used it here in a savoury snack dish of pakoras. Suitable for vegans and meat eaters too! Small crunchy bundles of vegetables encased in batter and deep or shallow fried. Delicious!
